Sustainable Mexican Blankets
These
hand-woven Mexican wool blankets are hand woven from the sheep's wool
at Chapa de Mota, Mexico, a research station outside of Mexico City where
the sheep are raised using sustainable grazing practices and the weaving
is done by local villagers. These blankets are heavier and more durable
than a Hudson Bay Blanket that can cost as much as $300. Beautifully designed,
these blankets are both art and craft. The weavers are paid a competitive
wage as Chapa de Mota strives to revive a rural economy.
